Letting People Misunderstand You
"Seeing From Within" A Quiet Place to Return to Yourself
There was a time when being misunderstood felt unbearable.
If someone didn’t see me clearly,
I felt the need to correct it.
To explain more.
To clarify my intentions.
To make sure they knew my heart.
Because I didn’t want to be seen the wrong way.
Sometimes, the more I tried to be understood,
the further I moved away from myself.
I was adjusting my truth
to fit someone else’s perception.
And in doing that…
I was losing my own center.
The Shift
Lately, I’ve been allowing something new.
I’ve been allowing people
to misunderstand me.
Not out of indifference.
Not out of distance.
But out of peace.
What Feels Different
There is a quiet release in not correcting everything.
In not rushing to explain.
In not needing to be fully seen
by everyone.
Because I’ve realized something important:
Understanding is not something I can control.
What I’m Learning
Not everyone will:
see me clearly
understand my choices
agree with my boundaries
And that’s okay.
Because alignment doesn’t require agreement.
Letting It Be
I’ve learned to let people have their perspective
without feeling the need to change it.
To let conversations end
without resolving every detail.
To let silence exist
without filling it.
A Quiet Prayer
Father,
Give me peace when I am misunderstood.
Help me release the need
to correct every perception.
Let me remain steady in truth
even when others don’t see it.
And remind me that being aligned with You
is more important than being understood by everyone.
In Jesus Name, Amen.
For You
If you feel the urge to explain yourself
so someone understands…
pause.
And ask:
“Can I remain at peace, even if they don’t?”
My Anchor
I can be misunderstood and still be aligned.
With love,
Carlene 🌿
