When Peace Feels Unfamiliar
"Seeing From Within" A quiet space to see clearly, live gently, and return to what matters.
Peace didn’t feel natural to me at first.
Not because I didn’t want it—
but because I wasn’t used to it.
I was used to movement.
To fixing.
To staying emotionally connected to everything around me.
Stillness felt… unfamiliar.
The Quiet Felt Loud
When things slowed down,
I noticed something unexpected.
There was no urgency.
No problem to solve.
No one needing something from me.
And instead of relief…
there was a moment of discomfort.
What I Realized
I wasn’t uncomfortable because something was wrong.
I was uncomfortable because something was finally right.
Learning a New Rhythm
Peace doesn’t demand attention.
It doesn’t rush.
It doesn’t pull.
It simply remains.
And I’ve had to learn how to remain with it.
What I’m Learning
Peace is not emptiness.
It is fullness without pressure.
It is space without expectation.
It is presence without performance.
Letting It Be Enough
I’m learning that I don’t need to:
fill every quiet moment
check in constantly
stay connected out of habit
Sometimes the most aligned thing I can do…
is nothing.
A Quiet Prayer
Father,
Help me grow comfortable with peace.
When I feel the urge to move,
teach me to remain.
When quiet feels unfamiliar,
remind me that I am safe here.
Let me not create noise
where You have given me rest.
Amen.
For You
If peace feels unfamiliar…
stay with it.
You don’t have to fix the quiet.
You’re allowed to live in it.
My Anchor
Peace is not something I chase.
It is something I allow.
With love,
Carlene 🌿
